Secret Characters

For the sake of explaining this easier, we're going to split up the two types of "secret characters" into: "Secret Characters" and "Extra Characters".
- Secret Characters are those that would be extremely difficult to figure out how to get them on your own, if you had no outside help (this webpage for example) in obtaining them.
- Extra Characters are those that are pretty easy to obtain, even the inexperienced gamer could probably get them with little problems.


Secret Characters:
SHARA:
- Complete the "A Maiden's Cry" mission. (This mission is availible after "beating the game")
- Go to what ever town you want. This will cause a storyline scene to take place.
- Shara will join your party, assuming you have room for another party member.
Class: Sniper
- Has "Sharpshoot" set, with these abilities already mastered:
- Death Sickle: Sweeps out to afflict doom with horrid speed.
- Doom Archer: Deal's archer's lost HP worth of damage to HP and MP.
- Aim: Armour: Shot aimed to destroy armour worn by target.
- Aim: Weapon: Shot aimer to destroy weapon held by target.


RITZ:
- Complete the "Mortal Snow" mission. (This mission is availible after "beating the game")
- Ritz will join your clan.
Class: Fencer
- Has "Lunge" set, with these abilities already mastered:
- Swarmstrike: Deals damage and poisons like stinging bees.
- Shadowstick: Attack to hinder movement, reducing target's speed.
- Featherblow: Flurry of attacks. Good hit rate, light damage.
- Manastrike: Strikes target's will directly, damaging MP.
- Piercethrough: Armour-penetrating attack. Also hits unit behind.
- "Block Arrows"


EZEL:
- Shortly before "beating the game", after Cid tells you to help him with Ezel's new card, Go to the Card Shop in Caodan.
- Once at the Card Shop, select the menu item called "Gossip".
- This will trigger Ezel to talk for a little bit, afterwards the mission called "Reconciliation" is unlocked and availible.
- Complete this mission, Ezel will join your party.
Class: Hermetic
- Has "Hermetics" set, with these abilities already mastered:
- Azoth: Secret Alchemy. Puts all enemies to sleep.
- Astra: Gives a one-time-use negative status affects protection.
- "Block Arrows"
- "Weapon Atk+"


BABUS:
- Complete the "Left Behind" mission. (This mission becomes availible after "beating the game")
- Go to what ever town you want. This will cause a storyline scene to take place.
- Go to Ambervale's Pub.
- Select the mission called "With Babus".
- Complete this mission, and Babus will join your party.
Class: Runeseeker
- Has "Rune" set, with these abilities already mastered:
- Explode: Explosive magical power. Deals enourmous damage.
- Stillness: Freezes time and space to stop units in an area.
- Quarter: Saps a quarter of target's HP.
- Demi: Gravity field. Saps half of target's HP.
- "Counter"


CID:
- Complete ALL of the 300 missions available in the game.
- Go to Bervenia Castle, causing a storyline scene to take place.
- Cid will join your party.
Class: Judgemaster
- Has "Advanced Law" set, with these abilities already mastered:
- Abate: Skips judge's turn once to allow violation.
- Judge sword: Slash to damage and steal JP.
- Bind: Immoblizes and disables target for arrest.
- JP Gift: Give own JP to a deserving friend.
- Yellow Clip: Nullifies a yellow card from record.



Extra Characters:
ELDENA:
- Complete any mission with "Elda's Cup" being one of the mission items you took with you to complete the mission.
- This will trigger the RANDOM chance that Eldena might join your clan.
Class: Red Mage
- Has "Red Magic" set, with these abilities already mastered:
- Barrier: Raises weapon defense and magic resistance.
- Doublecast: Cast two spells in quick succession.


LINI:
- Complete any mission with "The Hero Goal" being one of the mission items you took with you to complete the mission.
- This will trigger the RANDOM chance that Lini might join your clan.
Class: Mog Knight
- Has "Charge" set, with these abilities already mastered:
- Mog Guard: Focuses power to improve weapon defense and magic resistance.
- Ultima Charge: Charge attack born from ultima magic.


CHENEY:
- Complete any mission with "Snake Shield" being one of the mission items you took with you to complete the mission.
- This will trigger the RANDOM chance that Cheney might join your clan.
Class: Hunter
- Has "Hunt" set, with these abilities already mastered:
- Capture: Puts live monsters into the monster bank.
- Ultima Shot: Hunting attack born from ultima magic.


PALLANZA:
- Complete any mission with "Wyrmstone" being one of the mission items you took with you to complete the mission.
- This will trigger the RANDOM chance that Pallanza might join your clan.
Class: Gladiator
- Has "Spellblade Tech" set, with these abilities already mastered:
- Blitz: Uses aggression to sense and attack target. High hit rate, low damage.
- Ultima Sword: Mageblade attack born from ultima magic.


QUIN:
- Complete the "Missing Professor" mission.
- This will trigger the RANDOM chance that Quin might join your clan.
- If Quin does not join, you may concider re-loading the game.
Class: Sage
- Has "Sagacity Skill" set, with these abilities already mastered:
- Giga Flare: More powerful version of "Flare." Area affect.
- Ultima Blow: Powerful sage attack born from ultima magic.


LITTLEVILLI:
- Complete the "Clan League" mission.
- This will trigger the RANDOM chance that Littlevilli might join your clan.
- If Quin does not join, you may concider re-loading the game.
Class: Sniper
- Has "Sharpshoot" set, with these abilities already mastered:
- Doubleshot: Attack twice in quick succession.
- Doom Archer: Deals archer's lost HP worth of damage to HP and MP.


How to get the "Extra Characters" prerequisit items:
Elda's Cup: Complete the "Hungry Ghost" mission.
The Hero Goal: Complete the "Oasis Frogs" mission.
Snake Shield: Complete the "Hundred Eye" mission.
Wyrmstone: Complete the "Ruby Red" mission.


Other Hints Tips and Tricks:
- If you intend to get a Secret or Extra character, MAKE SURE you have enough room in your party.
- ALL "Extra Characters" are not gauranteed to join your party. Each "attempt" to get them, from completing missions, is just that: an attempt and not gauranteed. It is always random if they join or not.
- Some missions require certain items to be brought along in order to do the mission. Do not do *those missions* with the intention of getting an "Extra Character" to join you, as it will result in you permanently losing the item that you brought along. This is an issue simply because you can only get ONE of these items: Wyrmstone, The Hero Goal, and Elda's Cup, per game.
